Cultural and Historical Tours in Bhutan

Bhutan, also referred to as Druk Yul or the 'Land of the Thundering Dragon', is a small Himalayan nation that has become a popular destination. The name 'Bhutan' possibly originated from the Sanskrit term 'Bhotant', meaning 'the end of Tibet', or 'Bhu-uttan', translating to 'highland'. Rich in Buddhist tradition and mythology, Bhutan's early history is deeply embedded in these influences. While its ancient history is less well-documented, the medieval and modern periods reveal a history marked by warlords, conflicts, impressive fortresses, and castles. The modern era continues to fascinate with its blend of intrigue, treachery, intense battles, and spectacular pageantry. Bhutan also stands as the last stronghold of Tantric Buddhism.
